GREG PIDCOCK

Jump to Quito, Ecuador in 2001- Greg Pidcock first begins to experiment with early DJ software. Before long his family moved to Lima, Peru where he began DJing electronic music events at just 15 years old. The cutting edge progressive and tech sounds being played at the time were a big influence, and Greg was frequently sneaking out of his house to catch the top notch international and local talent.. At 16, his family moved yet again to India, forcing Greg to adapt to the house music deprived streets of Mumbai. Not giving up, Greg trained hard and joined forces with India’s premier dance music promoters: Submerge. This led to appearances at the Sunburn festival, one of Asia’s largest dance music events.

Jump back to Montreal, where many new doors have been opened, thus developing his sound even further. From playing small underground loft parties with local heroes to playing with legends like James Holden, Seth Troxler, Layo & Bushwacka!, Marc Romboy, M.A.N.D.Y., Green Velvet , Tone Depth and more. Years before, Greg was buying Tone’s records, now it was time to help start his new label: Bad Pony Records.  With monthly residencies at Cherry & Salon Daome and past appearances locally Piknic Electronik and Igloofest and internationally in Buenos Aires, Lima, Goa, Mumbai and LA, this 23 year old dj has began an ambitious career in the world of music. From Bad Pony to editing film scores for Mercan Dede and now finally putting together his own original album. Greg Pidcock is currently at the forefront of the new sound that is emerging from the underground and if he keeps on riding the crisp of this new wave, who knows where this young dj will end up, maybe on speakers all across the globe.
